Barnes will be in Washington, DC, all week making personal deliveries of invitations
to the Bureau’s annual Kentucky Derby Luncheon which will be held on April
8 at the Willard Hotel in Washington. Lisa LeCompte, Joyce Howlett and Casey Allen
are also in Washington helping with the deliveries.

March 25-28, Kate Amara will attend the National Catholic Educational Association annual conference
in Indianapolis. She is attending as a guest in the Student Youth Travel Association's (SYTA) exhibitor booth.
While there, Kate will promote the SYTA organization and also have an opportunity
to promote Louisville to educational travel decision makers.

March 29-30, Gayla Schaftlein will promote Louisville at the Adventures in Travel Expo in Washington, DC. Adventure shows
are the newest trend in attracting leisure travelers; marketing a "destination
experience" appeals to the next generation of visitors.

Karen Wallace will conduct a site visit with American Public Works. Louisville is hosting its “Snow
Conference” April 12-16. The conference will generate an economic impact of $1.2 million.

80,000 attendees are expected, generating an economic impact of $14.5 million.
The Bureau will provide an on-site city concierge and registration assistance.

Mary Kay 2008 Career Conference is meeting
at KICC. 2,000 attendees are expected, generating an economic impact of nearly $200,000.

17th Annual National Conference on Family Literacy
is meeting at the Galt House Hotel & Suites beginning on March 30. 3,000 attendees
are expected, generating an economic impact of $981,000. The Bureau will provide an onsite city concierge.

JamFest Events - 2008 Slam Jam Open Nationals
is being held at KICC this weekend. 1,600 attendees are expected, generating an economic impact of $190,000.

Tourism Society's Top 20 list for this summer - the Bluegrass Balloon Festival and the Kentucky Bourbon Festival. To view the complete list, click here. The next nominations deadline for the STS's Top
