AVP Crocs Tour Returns to Louisville

  • The announcement was made on Tuesday, February 26, that the AVP Crocs Tour Louisville Open will return to Waterfront Park over Memorial Day weekend, May 23-26. The tour will showcase the best professional beach volleyball athletes, many who will likely compete in the Beijing 2008 Summer Olympics. The AVP returned to Louisville last year for the first time since 1999 and was greeted with such high levels of enthusiasm by the entire community. This level of excitement prompted the event planners to choose Louisville again this year adding that the Louisville stop has the potential to become one of the Tour's flagship events. Pictured is Metro Mayor Jerry Abramson who spoke at the announcement.
