Convention Development

  • December 17, Yvonne Board conducted a site visit with the Presbyterian Church in America.  The group is looking at KEC as an alternative for its 2012 convention. The group originally wanted to use KICC, but preferred dates were unavailable.  The convention would generate 4,080 total room nights and an economic impact of $2 million.

  • December 19, the Bureau will host Lunch in Louisville.  Meeting planners from the Society of Government Meeting Professionals, Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana, HelmsBriscoe - Maryland, Council of Chief State School Officers, ABC Kids Expo, SmithBucklin-DCA, PRIDE Youth Programs are scheduled to attend the one-day familiarization tour.

  • December 20, Joyce Howlett will attend an MPI luncheon in Lexington.

  • On Wednesday, March 12, the Bureau invites you to Business After Hours at Garden Court at the Louisville Seminary, 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. This popular trade show and networking event is held twice a year and gives partners the chance to exhibit and network with more than 350 business professionals and local meeting planners.   • The CVB Press Office is constantly feeding regional news media story ideas. Many of those ideas are generated through events that are posted in the calendar. If your property/attraction/restaurant is holding any sort special event (that is open-to-the-public) during the holidays, especially New Year's Eve, please submit those items as soon as possible.   • The nominations deadline for the Southeast Tourism Society Top 20 Events is Friday, January 11.
