The historic Tom Moore Distillery, home of 1792 Ridgemont Reserve,
has joined the Kentucky Bourbon Trail. The Bardstown landmark is owned and
operated by Constellation Spirits, the former Barton Brands, Ltd. This is the
first time the Trail has grown past its original seven founding members. The Tom
Moore Distillery is the eighth member, joining Jim Beam, Buffalo Trace, Four Roses, Heaven Hill, Maker's Mark, Wild Turkey and Woodford Reserve. The Tom Moore Distillery will begin offering
tours on October 1. Plans also are underway for a visitor’s center to open in 2010.

On August 22, Katie O’Bryan, Clay Spencer and Carolina Mutz,
general manager and director of sales for the Hyatt Regency Louisville, gave a presentation on the city
of Louisville to the Hyatt Global Sales office. Several Hyatt national and
global account managers attended the presentation either in person or via phone.

August 29, Joyce Howlett will meet with Dale Williams in the contracting
office at Fort Knox.

Kate Amara conducted a site visit
with Perfectly Paranormal Planning who will make the site selection for three
Paranormal Retreats hosted by Darkness Radio and Sci Fi’s Ghost Hunters
in 2009. While in Louisville, they had the opportunity to take the Old Louisville
Ghost Tour with David Domine, author of “Ghosts of Old Louisville.” Pictured

Development hosted Terry's Tours for a two day group leader FAM. This was
a multi-day FAM tour originating from Virginia. The group leaders were able
to get a chance to visit just a few attractions in hopes of bringing back overnight

Amara will attend the Going on Faith conference in Davenport, Iowa. Amara
will have preset appointments with group leaders that plan faith-based travel for groups.

Karl Schmitt speaking about the Cup Experience. All attraction partners

When the PGA of America hosts the 37th Ryder Cup at Valhalla Golf
Club September 16-21, the Commonwealth of Kentucky and Metro Louisville will host
The Cup Experience, a fun-filled week of golf inspired celebrations. We

The Bureau's HLA (Hospitality Louisville Ambassador)
program offers anyone working in the hospitality industry in the Louisville area
a chance to become a certified ambassador to Louisville. The Hospitality Louisville
program will be held September 24 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Cost of the program for a member company is $79 per participant and $129 for a
non-member company. Group rates are available. Space is limited, so register today!

Louisville. The tour is a free 60-minute walk led by volunteers. If you would

Ironman 2008 is meeting at various local hotels with
the Galt House Hotel & Suites as headquarters August 28-September 1. 12,500
athletes and attendees are expected to attend, generating an economic impact of
over $4 million. The Bureau will provide an onsite city concierge.

106th Infantry Division Association is meeting at
the Galt House Hotel & Suites September 3-7. 175 attendees are expected,
generating an economic impact of $118,560. The Bureau will provide onsite registration assistance.

The Bureau will host its annual Golf Classic on Monday,
October 6 from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Lake Forest Golf Club. This is a fantastic
and fun opportunity for hospitality industry leaders to enjoy a great day of golf
and networking. Not a golfer? Be a party crasher!

of Service Excellence (ROSE) Awards to honor the individuals within the hospitality
industry who truly make the city's first impression, and always make sure it's

regional sections for the 2009 Official Visitor’s Guide is posted for review
at www.kentuckytourism.com/industry. Please carefully check
your listing and send corrections to Kathy.Yount@ky.gov.
Design of the guide is ongoing with pictures and advertisements being placed on
the pages. Ad proofs will be available in mid-September. If you have an image
you would like to submit for consideration, send it to MaryAnn.Seeman@ky.gov.
Images need to be at least 4 x 6 inches at 300 dpi. Proofs will be posted until Thursday, August 28.

Gallopalooza,
the 2004 civic pride project that sent hundreds of life-size, artistically decorated
horses out to graze all over Louisville, is back with all-new horse designs. The
2009 project will feature four new horse poses, including one that will be determined
by the public at www.courier-journal.com/horses.“This year, the theme
for the horses will be ‘Possibility City’ to tie in with our community’s
new branding campaign,” said Louisville Mayor Jerry Abramson.
