15-16, Casey Allen will conduct a site visit for the National Association of School Resource Officers. The group
is considering Louisville for its 2010 Annual Convention. The meeting would generate
6,000 room nights and an economic impact of $2.4 million.

April 16-18, Joyce Howlett and Karen Wallace will conduct a site visit with
the National Conference of State Legislatures. Louisville
will host this group in 2010. The meeting will generate 12,769 total room
nights and an economic impact of nearly $6 million.

17, Joyce Howlett will attend a breakfast meeting for the Kentucky Bluegrass Chapter of Meeting Professionals International at the Kentucky Expo Center.

The Louisville Bureau hosted
its annual Derby Luncheon in Washington, D.C., last week at the Willard Intercontinental
Hotel. More than 40 meeting planners attended the event. A trip for
two to this year’s Kentucky Derby was given away during the luncheon.

Susan Dallas, Marketing/Communications Department, and Dineene Bradley
will host gosh PR, The Kentucky Department of Tourism's agency that
represents the state in the United Kingdom. They will be in Louisville for a site visit on April 15-16.

April 16, Dineene Bradley will host the Japan/American Grassroots
Summit Committee. Representatives from across the state, along with Mr.
Nobu Mori, secretary general director of the Center for International Exchange,
will attend to discuss plans for the upcoming Summit to be held in Louisville in October 2008.

April 14, the Fairfield Inn and SpringHill Suites held its Grand Opening Celebration and Ribbon
Cutting Ceremony at 132 East Jefferson Street. The hotel is a joint venture of
White Lodging Services, REI Investments, Poe Companies and local project partners

14, Louisville was declared the winner in the search for the Twin City of Bushmills
in America. In addition to the Twin City title, Louisville also takes home a $40,000
grand prize to be used for the advancement of local culture and to support responsible
drinking. As part of a celebration honoring the 400th anniversary of the original
license to distill granted to the Bushmills region, the search was narrowed to
three finalist cities, Louisville, Boston and Portland, Maine. Americans cast
more than 55,000 votes and selected Louisville as the champion and solidifying
the partnership between Bushmills and Louisville, two of the great bourbon and

Borden, Nancy Stephen and Stacey Yates attended and exhibited at WhiskyFest in Chicago on April 4. The Bourbon Country booth
had more than 600 enthusiastic visitors from Arizona to Michigan, some of whom
had heard of the Kentucky
Bourbon Trail and others who are eager to visit. The CVB staff distributed
information about Louisville as the Gateway to Bourbon Country, the city's Urban Bourbon Trail and the Kentucky Bourbon Trail.
Attendees could also register for an Ultimate Ryder Cup Experience prize package.

Last July, approximately 7,000 people carrying nearly 12,000 treasures,
heirlooms and oddities, descended on the Kentucky International Convention Center
to consult with Antiques Roadshow expert appraisers. Viewers can relive the
excitement of the Roadshow’s Louisville visit in a three-part series, airing
Mondays, April 21 - May 5 at 8 p.m. on KET2 and Thursdays, April 24 - May 8 at
8 p.m. on KET1 and KET HD, and Saturdays, April 26 - May 10 at 5 p.m. on KET1.

Please join the Louisville
Convention & Visitors Bureau as we kick-off the city’s Hometown Tourist
Celebration Friday, May 9 at 11:30 a.m. at the Visitors Center at 4th and Jefferson.
For more than five years, the city has hosted Hometown Tourist events to encourage
community residents to visit attractions all around Kentuckiana with their families
just as if they were tourists in another city. Held in conjunction with the Travel
Industry Association’s National Tourism Week, numerous attractions participate with
discounts and special offers throughout the month of May. The public is invited
to the 2008 Hometown Tourist kick-off celebration on Friday, May 9 at the city’s
Visitors Center. The event will unveil the Celebration’s
details including special discount ticket offers.

with the Louisville Historical League and Louisville Mojo, Mayor Abramson is seeking your vote on which
heritage or cultural places within Louisville and Southern Indiana are the top
"7 Wonders of Louisville." Your vote will help decide, so click here to cast your ballot. Only one entry per person.
Voting will take place Monday, April 14 - Tuesday, April 29.
The top 20 vote recipients will be considered for the “7
Wonders of Louisville” contest. The second contest, to vote on those sites
nominated, will be located here, and voting is open from May 7 - 20. The top seven vote
recipients will be recognized as “Louisville’s 7 Wonders.” The
results of this second contest will be announced at the site that received the most votes overall on May 22.
