4 Day/3 Night

 

Day One

Evening

  • Derby Dinner Playhouse. Before the show starts, the fun begins with your group actually performing as the opening act for the seasoned actors then sit back, relax and enjoy dinner and a show as Derby Dinner Playhouse puts on a professional Broadway-style production of comedy, music or mystery with a delicious Southern buffet-style dinner.

Day Two

Morning

  • Breakfast at hotel
  • LouisvilleZoo- Provide your student group with the opportunity to reconnect with the natural world –perform in the wild. The Louisville Zoo offers many locations for your group: the front entrance, Meta Zoo Stage, and just outside the Gorilla Forest exhibit. Make some memorable encounters with the animal ambassadors at the Louisville Zoo, some of the most amazing creatures on our planet. As your students laugh and share, discover and learn, they create lasting memories and develop important new understandings of their role in protecting and conserving our planet’s natural resources. Enjoy 1,300 animals exhibited in natural settings. See group favorites like gorillas, lions, tigers and polar bears, penguins, hundreds of colorful birds and so much more. The Louisville Zoo lets you escape from your wild everyday life and enjoy the beauty of nature.

Afternoon

  • Lynn’s Paradise Café: Discover wildly sinful and truly southern concoctions at this one-of-kind eatery. With its quirky décor of ugly lamps and bottle cap art, you will feel truly at home while feeding your appetite with food and your mind with never ending eye candy. Lynn’s was named one of four most fun restaurants in America (according to Esquire Magazine).
  • MuhammadAli Center: The Muhammad Ali Center serves as both a cultural attraction and international education center that is inspired by the ideals of its founder, Muhammad Ali. The Ali Center’s innovative and immersive visitor experience, public and educational programming, and global initiatives carry on Muhammad’s legacy and continue his life’s work. Two-and-a-half levels of interactive exhibits and captivating multimedia presentations introduce Ali’s epic life. The entrance to this wonderful facility offers a large open space for your group to perform. The outdoor raised “amphitheater” can hold larger groups.
  • Frazier History Museum: History comes alive at The Frazier International History Museum in the 100,000 square-foot, state-of-the-art museum encompassing three floors.  Here you can relive historical events that challenged our ancestors.  You can meet heroes, generals, and famous leaders through live interpretations. Experience an unforgettable journey through 1,000 years of history covering two continents!  Why not add to history and have your group perform among legends in the Lower Level foyer or the fourth floor event space.
  • Glassworks: From tiny grains of raw material to works of art, see artistry at its finest at Glassworks, the country’s first complete center dedicated to the art of glass. Watch glassblowers, flame workers, cutters and designers create magnificent pieces of art in an open air atmosphere. Have your group do a hands-on activity in the workshop to create their own pieces of magic to take home.

Evening

  • Tumbleweed Southwest Grill: Situated in Louisville’s Waterfront Park on the banks of the Ohio River, this location is unique to Louisville.  It is built literally over the river and the building allows diners to have a year round panoramic view of the downtown skyline, the river and the surrounding park area. With mouth watering entrees and great views your student group can’t go wrong.
  • Broadway Across America:  Many shows have graced the stages throughout The Kentucky Center. Spamalot, Phantom of the Opera, and The Lion King just to name a few. Your student group will have an evening like no other as they are drawn into the artistry and complete transformation from the unbelievable staging, incomparable directing, and phenomenal acting while attending one of the many Broadway shows that come to the River City.

Day Three

Morning

  • Churchill Downs Back Stretch Breakfast: Ever wondered what a thoroughbred had for breakfast?  Start your day by experiencing the exclusive atmosphere of a morning at the track with a preview of the magical process of training world class thoroughbreds during their early morning working out. Sit next to actual trainers who handle these magnificent animals and hear the hoof beats just outside the door.
  • Kart Kountry- Spend the day at the longest go cart track in the world. Your group will feel the rush of excitement as they zoom around this track at top speeds. Engage your competition in a race to see who can complete the course first. Why not get a little wet with the bumper boats. Two miniature golf courses will have your group crooning Fore at each hole. The batting cages will have you students feeling like a pro baller as they crack the balls “outta the park.”  The pavilion provides a great setting for a hearty meal of your choice and allows for the group to catch their breaths before the are out there racing again.
  • Back to hotel to freshen up

Evening

  • Dinner aboard the Historic Belle of Louisville: Enjoy a scrumptious meal aboard one of the oldest paddle wheelers still in operating existence. Learn of her childhood years as a ferry between Tennessee and Arkansas. As a teenager during World War II, she often towed barges filled with oil along the Mississippi and Ohio rivers. And finally leading in to her later years, she has become one of Louisville’s greatest treasures: A legendary Lady. This attraction offers a captive audience for your performance group as well as a memorable evening event.

Day Four

Morning

  • Hunka Hunka Burning Breakfast @ Hard Rock Café: Celebrate Rock-n-Roll with a breakfast fit for the KING including an all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet, a personalized Elvis memorabilia tour and group Elvis trivia game.
  • Old Louisville Ghost Tour: Brace yourself for a tour of one of the nation’s largest historic preservation districts as you journey through haunted streets and scenic alleyways. Hear tales of an elegant past and eerie tales of spirits that refuse to vacate their turn-of-the century mansions.
