4 Day/3 Night

Day One

  • Kentucky Show!-A multi-Sensory experience that tells a beautiful story about the rich history of Kentucky. This show offers a Kentucky 101 for people that are visiting for the first time. For those that have been to Kentucky before, this show offers itself as a reminder of why the state is so special. The imagery is beautiful and sounds are comforting. The KentuckyShow! is narrated by Ashley Judd, a Kentucky Native.
  • Louisville Mega Cavern– Once an urban legend, Louisville Mega Cavern is now a reality. This man made cavern was once a limestone pit mine that eventually lost mineral rights. For the past 50 years this space has served many purposes, most notably, the largest civil defense shelter to be used in the event of a nuclear disaster during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Now, years later, this mine has been turned into a one of a kind attraction. Your group will take a jeep driven tram through 17 miles of underground caverns and learn about the history of the cavern.   Temperature is always 58 degrees so a light jacket is needed.
  • Performance and dinner at Derby Dinner Playhouse- Sit back, relax and enjoy the show as Derby Dinner Playhouse puts on a professional Broadway style production of comedy, music or mystery with a sinfully delicious southern buffet-style dinner.

Day Two

  • Breakfast at hotel
  • Moonshine and Madness Tour- Long before Las Vegas acquired the nickname, Louisville enjoyed the dubious reputation as America’s Sin City. The decadence associated with its bourbon distilleries, tobacco houses and horse racing became synomous with our great city. Today, ghostly legends from its heyday live on. Treat your group to a tour of the Old Louisville of the Roaring 20s and the Fabulous 30s when flappers, moon shiners and gangsters kept the neighborhood hopping with scandal and intrigue. Local author David Dominé has chronicled many of these Prohibition-era stories in his popular series about Old Louisville hauntings, and an entertaining narrator is waiting to show your group the sites mentioned in his books. Sit back and enjoy a ghostly tale from a local performer and then discover the hidden charms of Floral Terrace, where a phantom from the Great Depression still lingers in the shadows. See where tobacco barons and bourbon kings made their homes. Tour also includes Happy Balls!, the homemade bourbon balls from Old Louisville, and entrance into the Bishop’s Hat mansion.
  • Lunch on your own Fourth Street Live! Louisville’s premier dining and entertainment district features a mix of thirteen leading national and regional restaurants. Later in the evening, go wild with the Fourth Street Live! nightlife.
  • Frazier History Museum- Take an unforgettable journey through history that spans 1,000 years and 2 continents with one of the greatest collection of historical artifacts in the world. The Frazier features a collection of arms and armor of famous politicians, celebrities, frontiersmen, soldiers, knights and kings. Learn the stories behind the treachery and treason that started some of the world’s most well known conflicts. Groups enjoy guided tours, sword fighting demonstrations and first-person costumed historical interpretations.
  • Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory- Baseball is known as America’s Pastime, however it has seen its share of scandal. Visit the Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory and learn the facts for yourself. Also while there, admire the world’s largest baseball bat before going inside to see how Louisville Sluggers are made. You will be right in the heart of production as you tour the factory.  Have an all-star experience by swinging a bat just like Babe Ruth’s, facing down a 90 mph fastball and sharing a dugout with Mickey Mantle.
  • Muhammad Ali Center:  If someone said “The Greatest” just walked in the room, everyone would know who you were referring to, Muhammad Ali. The Muhammad Ali Center covers the good, the bad and the ugly of his life. It also shows the struggle a young man endured during the Civil Rights Movement in Louisville. Muhammad’s center will allow visitors to renew the human spirit as they walk in the footsteps of Louisville’s Native Son. Follow his journey from a young boy who looked to boxing to keep him out of trouble to a man whose convictions would make history. Learn of his love for making the world a better place and his efforts that have affected the lives of millions and mended their broken spirits.
  • Dinner and entertainment at Horseshoe Casino. Spirited fun takes place at this beautiful venue with many dining options including a fabulous buffet. With many world class music concerts to comedy greats, Horseshoe provides an evening full of decadent fun. From traditional favorites to a spectacular floor filled with brand new games and slots, Horseshoe offers unparalleled action.
  • Overnight at a Louisville Accommodation

Day Three

  • Lynn’s Paradise Café- Discover wildly sinful and truly southern concoctions at this one-of-kind eatery, including their Bourbon Ball Milkshake and Bourbon Ball French Toast. Lynn’s uses Kentucky Proud products such as White Cheddar from Kenny’s Farmhouse in Barren County and sorghum from Scott Hams in Greenville. With its quirky décor of ugly lamps and bottle cap art, you will feel at home while satisfying your appetite for delicious food and endless eye candy. Lynn’s was named one of four most fun restaurants in America (according to Esquire Magazine).
  • Maker’s Mark Distillery-Nestled in the rolling hills of Loretto, Kentucky, Maker’s Mark is one of the world’s finest and well known bourbon distilleries. Maker’s Mark is the only operating distillery in America to be designated a National Historic Landmark. Originally built in 1805 as a gristmill distillery, it became the home of Maker’s Mark in 1953. Today, it is the oldest operating distillery on its original site. While visiting the beautiful distillery, your group will see how this libation was developed and how it came to be so wellknown. Your group can also try their hand at dipping their own bottle in the signature red wax. Maker’s Mark is just one stop on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail.
  • Heaven Hill Bourbon Heritage Center- See the rickhouses where the world’s second largest supply of bourbon ages, hear the stories of whiskey making pioneers Evan Williams and Reverend Elijah Craig and sample the fine bourbon in a unique barrel shaped tasting room. You can even create your own personalized bottle to take home!
  • Lunch at Kurtz’s-Originally the Kurtz family started this restaurant in 1937 serving meals from their home, long before fast food restaurants, country clubs and drive-ins. Kurtz's became a place to gather and dine. Today, three generations continue to prepare the Southern cuisine which their patrons have come to expect and enjoy. Skillet fried chicken, Kentucky country ham, homemade soups and casseroles are among some of the local favorites. Delicious homemade cobblers, pies, biscuit pudding and skillet fried cornbread have become their signature.
  • Oscar Geotz Museum of Whiskey History displays a 50 year collection of rare artifacts and documents concerning the American whiskey industry dating from pre-Colonial days to post-Prohibition years. The museum includes exhibits on President Washington, Abraham Lincoln, authentic moonshine stills, antique bottles and jugs, medicinal whiskey bottles, unique advertising art, novelty whiskey containers, and much more.
  • Jim Beam’s American Outpost- Visit the world’s largest bourbon distiller and one of the stops on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail. Learn all about Jim Beam bourbon and the Beam family heritage at the American Outpost. Tours provide insight into the centuries-old art of distilling and the legacy of Jim Beam bourbon. Sample a selection of hand crafted Small Batch Bourbons.
  • Dinner Cruise onboard the historic Belle of Louisville- Enjoy a scrumptious dinner aboard a treasured National Historic Landmark. The Belle is over 90 years old and is the oldest operating steamboat in the nation.
  • Overnight at a Louisville Accommodation

Day Four

  • Churchill Downs Backstretch Breakfast Tour- Start your day by experiencing the exclusive atmosphere of a morning at the historic track with a preview of the magical process of training world-class thoroughbreds during their early morning workout. Then head over to Kentucky Derby Museum and experience Derby Day from the starting gate to the finish line. The Kentucky Derby Museum brings the pageantry and excitement of the Kentucky Derby to life. Feel the excitement of the crowds and hear the thunder of the hoofs with a presentation of “The Greatest Race.” Guests can also schedule a “create- your- own Derby Hat” workshop for an additional fee.
