A Love Affair with Louisville
3 Day/2 Night
Day One
- KentuckyShow!: A multi-sensory experience that tells a beautiful story about the rich history of Kentucky. This show offers a Kentucky 101 for people who are visiting for the first time. For those who have been to Kentucky before, this show offers a reminder of why the state is so special. The imagery is stunning and sounds are comforting. KentuckyShow! is narrated by Ashley Judd, a Kentucky native.

Evening
- The Valentine’s Day Sweetheart Cruise aboard the Spirit of Jefferson: Enjoy a night of fine dining and incredible views aboard the Spirit of Jefferson. Complimentary champagne, a delightful dinner buffet and great entertainment make a night to be remembered. Hold your sweetheart tight as the Spirit of Jefferson navigates its way up the mighty Ohio River for a night of romance.
- Overnight at Louisville accommodations
Day Two
Morning
- Breakfast with your main squeeze at Lynn’s Paradise Café: Toast you and your honey’s fabulous trip in Louisville with a Mimosa made from Lynn’s freshly squeezed orange juice. Hold hands next to one of Lynn’s Ugly Lamps and reminisce about how your Aunt Marge had one just like it. Save room for a decadent dessert of Bourbon Ball French Toast—it’s big enough for two!
- Frazier History Museum: Meet a real knight in shining armor as you take a journey through time and across continents. Come face to face with some of the people and stories that changed the world forever, including knights, kings, famous politicians, celebrities, frontiersmen and soldiers. History comes to life through ever-changing and interactive temporary exhibits, as well as fascinating and one-of-a-kind permanent galleries, the only place in the world outside Great Britain to permanently display Royal Armouries artifacts. When you visit, be sure to check out a performance by a costumed interpreter—you just might meet a knight, a pirate or watch a sword fight!
- Louisville Glassworks: Do something different this Valentine's Day! Heat it up by entering the glassblowing studio and blowing a kiss FOR or WITH your honey! Take your sweetie by the hand and wander over to the walk-in work shop and choose from a variety of masterpieces you can create together, such as a stained glass heart-shaped suncatcher.
- Huber’s Orchard & Winery: Taste the best of the vine and enjoy a leisurely lunch in the country. Huber’s Winery has won many awards for their delectable wines. Take a tour of the wine cellars and production area. Sample the wine and choose a favorite for that special day of love (or any day really). Enjoy the countryside as you dine on some delicious homemade selections from the Starlite Café.
- Schimpff’s Confectionery: Sweets for the sweet! From the first moment you walk in the door your nose is entranced by the delightful smells of fresh chocolate and the spicy richness of cinnamon. Your group will meet the owners, Jill and Warren Schimpff, and see a candymaking demonstration that will have you begging for a taste. Schimpff’s has been featured on the History Channel’s Modern Marvels, as they still use turn-of-the-century equipment to churn out their beloved Red Hots. Don’t miss the old-fashioned soda fountain and the candy museum.
- Derby Dinner Playhouse: Start your evening with Derby Dinner Playhouse’s savory dinner buffet, including a salad bar and a delectable array of Southern-style selections. Then, sit back and enjoy the show as they entertain you with a Broadway style show that just may have you splitting your sides!
Day Three
- Ghost Tour of Old Louisville: Often called the original Sin City, Old Louisville offers stories of love on the rocks, money and fame won and lost, and a collection of architecture that will wow you. Secrets hide within Old Louisville, as do the spirits that refuse to vacate the homes. Your group will experience a narrated tour through Louisville’s first suburb and end up at one of its most opulent mansions, and perhaps discover that they have picked up an extra passenger or two. Visit the Conrad-Caldwell House and meet the resident Old Louisville ghost, Mr. Dupont. Listen in to the tawdry details of the affair that ended in his untimely death.
- Time to head home. Thank you for visiting.
