Day One

  • KentuckyShow!: Experience the people, sights, and sounds of the Commonwealth woven together in a high-definition production that will excite your senses and steal your heart. This breathtaking 32-minute multimedia show explores the ways Kentucky’s past, present and choices for the future converge to create an utterly unique and powerfully engaging place.
  • Louisville Mega Cavern: Once an urban legend, the Louisville Mega Cavern is now a reality. This manmade cavern was originally a limestone pit mine, but over the past 50 years, this space has served many purposes. Now it has been turned into a one of a kind attraction, where you will take a Jeep-driven tram through 17 miles of underground caverns and learn about the history of the cavern. Temperature is always 58°, so bring a light jacket.
  • Evening performance and dinner at Derby Dinner Playhouse: Start off your evening at Derby Dinner with at the salad bar. Then move on to the freshly prepared, homestyle buffet, featuring a wide selection. Enjoy a little pre-show entertainment with your musical hosts and hostesses, The Footnotes. Now just sit back, relax, and enjoy the show as Derby Dinner Playhouse puts on a professional Broadway-style production filled with laughter, mystery, music and dance!

Day Two

  • Glassworks: Enjoy the country’s first complete center dedicated to the art of glass. Watch glassblowers, flameworkers, cutters and designers create magnificent pieces of art in an open air atmosphere. Glassworksis well known for its magnificent galleries, featuring artists from around the world and their unique art. You can also schedule time for your group members to blow their own glass souvenirs.
  • Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory: Tour the world famous bat factory. Admire the world’s largest baseball bat before going inside to see how Louisville Sluggers are made. Have an all-star experience by swinging a bat just like Babe Ruth’s, facing down a 90 mph fastball, and sharing a dugout with Mickey Mantle. The Louisville Slugger has been essential in the sport of baseball since 1884.
  • Louisville Stoneware: Discover the history of pottery and paint your own piece of art.A tradition that has been preserved since 1879, Stoneware is one of the United States oldest producers of handmade and hand-painted stoneware.
  • Lunch at Lynn’s Paradise Café: Take a break with lunch at one of the most fun restaurants in America! Lynn’s is always warm and welcoming with an eclectic menu and décor to match! Their delectable menu offers Southern food with a twist, such as the Bourbon Ball Milkshake and the Paradise Hot Brown.
  • The American Printing House for the Blind: Founded in 1858, the American Printing House for the Blind is the oldest institution in the United States devoted solely to creating products for the visually impaired. See how Braille inventions have progressed with publications of recorded books and special demonstrations such as the history of talking books. Free admission.
  • Flame Run: From art glass studios and art glass gallery tours, hot glass demonstrations, contemporary glass art exhibitions, and community classes to visiting artists’ workshops, Flame Run has put Louisville on the map as a destination for contemporary glass artists, educators, and collectors. Flame Run is about seeing, feeling and experiencing the passion of glass artists.
  • Dinner at Claudia Sanders Dinner House: Named for Colonel Sanders’ wife, this restaurant’s specialties include fried chicken, country ham and eight famous vegetables. Located at the former home and headquarters of Claudia and Colonel Harland Sanders, here you will taste true Kentucky cooking.

Day Three

  • Kentucky Bourbon Trail: Tour two working bourbon distilleries. Choose from the six historic distilleries along the Kentucky Bourbon Trail, including Jim Beam, Heaven Hill, Makers Mark, Wild Turkey, Woodford Reserve, and Four Roses. See the art of bourbon-making being practiced much as it was 200 years ago. Visit the producers of America’s ONLY native spirit and experience for yourself the magic and science of the Master Distiller’s craft. Prices vary at each distillery.
  • Lunch at Hubers Family Farm & Restaurant: “Real food”  is waiting for you in the country at Joe Hubers Family Restaurant! Everything is made from scratch, featuring ingredients straight from the Huber farm. Menu includes fried chicken, honey ham, chicken and dumplings and more!
  • Huber Winery: Discover the art of wine making with a trip to the country at Huber Orchard & Winery. Tour the underground wine cellar and see the most modern equipment used to make Hubers’ magnificent vintages. Also, while enjoying the fresh country air, stop in atHuber's Starlight Distillery, located at Huber's Orchard & Winery.  They are producing brandies much like their ancestors did during the early 1800's. Hubers’ master distillers are committed to crafting brandies in the finest artisanal European tradition.
  • Dinner aboard the historic Belle of Louisville: Enjoy a scrumptious lunch aboard a treasured National Historic Landmark. At over 90 years old, the Belle is the oldest operating steamboat in the nation.

Day Four

  • Schimpff’s Confectionery and Candy Shoppe: Schimpff’s is a sweet visit to the past. See fine handmade candies produced with a candy making demonstration on turn-of-the century equipment. Try the Modjeska, a caramel-marshmallow concoction invented in Louisville. Free.
