  • Mega Caverns – Once an urban legend, Mega Caverns is now a reality. This man made cavern was once a limestone pit mine that eventually lost its mineral rights. For the past 50 years this space has served many purposes, most notably, the largest civil defense shelter in the area and was to be used in the event of a nuclear disaster during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Now, years later, this mine has been turned into a one of a kind attraction. Your group will take a jeep driven tram through 17 miles of underground caverns and learn about the history of the cavern. Temperature is always 58 degrees so a light jacket is needed.

  • Maker’s Mark Distillery- Nestled in the rolling hills of Loretto, Kentucky, Maker’s Mark is one of the world’s finest and well known bourbon distilleries. Maker’s Mark is the only operating distillery in America to be designated a National Historic Landmark. Originally built in 1805 as a gristmill distillery, it became the home of Maker’s Mark in 1953. Today, it is the oldest operating distillery on its original site. While visiting the beautiful distillery, your group will see how this libation was developed and how it came to be so well known. Your group can also try their hand at dipping their own bottle in the signature red wax. Maker’s Mark is just one stop on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail.
  • Oscar Geotz Museum of Whiskey History displays a 50 year collection of rare artifacts and documents concerning the American whiskey industry dating from pre-Colonial days to post-Prohibition years. The museum includes exhibits on President Washington, Abraham Lincoln, authentic moonshine stills, antique bottles and jugs, medicinal whiskey bottles, unique advertising art, novelty whiskey containers, and much more.
  • Lynn’s Paradise Café- Discover wildly sinful and truly southern concoctions at this one-of-kind eatery, including their Bourbon Ball Milkshake and Bourbon Ball French Toast. Lynn’s uses Kentucky Proud products such as White Cheddar from Kenny’s Farmhouse in Barren County and sorghum from Scott Hams in Greenville. With its quirky décor of ugly lamps and bottle cap art, you will truly feel at home while satisfying your appetite for delicious food and endless eye candy. Lynn’s was named one of four most fun restaurants in America (according to Esquire Magazine).

AFTERNOON

  • Brown-Foreman Cooperage-Cooperage is the art of barrel making, and it is still being practiced much as it was 200 years ago. Brown-Foreman Cooperage, founded in 1945, produces new American white oak barrels for the making of Jack Daniels and Woodford Reserve. Take a tour of Brown-Forman Cooperage where you will see the artistry behind the creation of bourbon barrels.
  • Old Louisville Ghost Tour Old Louisville is a charming Victorian district with romantic gas-lit alleys and splendid 19th-century architecture that make the perfect backdrop for entertaining tales of otherworldly encounters - especially when the gas lamps come on and illuminate the neighborhood in a soft, and eerie, glow. Visit sites of documented hauntings such as the majestic First Church of Christ Scientist and Widmer House, the haunted house that started it all. Included on this tour are the highlights of beautiful St James and Belgravia Courts, the mansions of Millionaires Row and a sweet side trip to the Bishop’s Hat House, where Jane and Ron Harris make their world-famous Happy Balls! bourbon candy. The Old Louisville Ghost Tour offers a step back in time to explore the opulence of one of the nation's largest collection of Victorian homes. Learn of the homes' past and some "spirited" mischief that refuses to leave.
  • Back to Hotel to freshen up

EVENING

  • Dinner at the Bristol Bar and Grille puts your group right in the middle of Main Street which was once known as Whiskey Row. One of the very first bourbon distilleries was located there. Your group will have a wonderful dinner at this local favorite. The Bristol is no stranger to bourbon infused cuisine. They offer a grilled to perfection filet topped with a Buffalo Trace Bourbon wild mushroom sauce and a bourbon sampler for the group to prepare for the hauntingly spirited evening to come.
  • Waverly Hills Sanatorium Once thought of as a beautiful locale for a much needed Tuberculosis hospital, Waverly Hills soon became the final home for many patients. Waverly is thought to be one of the most haunted places in America. The group from TAPS and Ghost Hunters visited the hospital. Their experiences were extraordinary.
