DAY ONE
MORNING
- Take in the multi-Sensory experience of the KentuckyShow! that tells a beautiful story about the rich history of Kentucky. This show offers a Kentucky 101 for people that are visiting for the first time. For those that have been to Kentucky before, this show offers itself as a reminder of why the state is so special. The imagery is beautiful and sounds are comforting. The KentuckyShow! is narrated by Ashley Judd, a Kentucky Native.
- Somewhere a little sapling is growing up to reach its destiny of becoming a Louisville Slugger baseball bat. As you walk through the Slugger Factory you will see northern white ash and maple trees transformed into baseball bats for Alex Rodriguez, Derek Jeter, or one of many other professional baseball players in the game today—or maybe even your own Little Leaguer!
- One block east the fun continues at the Louisville Science Center, where exhibitions are designed for hands-on learning and IMAX wows the whole family.
AFTERNOON
- Take time for lunch at the Bristol Bar & Grille on Main Street, 2 blocks east of the Science Center and one of the many Louisville Originals restaurants.
- Finish your day among the fascinating exhibitions at the Frazier International History Museum, or with The Greatest at the Muhammad Ali Center.
EVENING
- A short car drive away the , family will love the view from the Tumbleweed Southwest Grill, situated on the Ohio River with boat docks nearby and the Indiana shoreline just across the water. Ask about special kid prices on Sundays.
DAY TWO
MORNING
- The Louisville Zoo brings smiles to kids and grownups alike with animals from all over the world. Come face to face with a gorilla, hear the lions roar, and let a lorikeet eat from your hand.
AFTERNOON
- Take an underground adventure at Louisville Mega Cavern on a guided tram tour rich in history, geology, mining and recycling. This giant cavern was the largest civil defense shelter during the Cuban Missile Crisis.
EVENING
- Have a family dinner at one of Louisville’s favorite spots; try the Bar-B-Q at Mark’s Feed Store, award winning, slice-of-heaven pizza at Wick’s Pizza or a buffalo burger at Buckhead Mountain Grill. These restaurants have several area locations.
SUMMERTIME OPTIONS
- Louisville is a river city, and your family will be delighted with a day on the Ohio River. Begin with a lunch cruise on the Belle of Louisville. This steamboat is a National Historic Landmark, and you’ll be charmed by her calliope music.
- Back on land, rent a bike or surrey from Wheel Fun Rentals and explore the beautiful Waterfront Park. The park features bike trails, hiking paths, playgrounds, a grand Lincoln Memorial, and more!
- You don’t have to leave the waterfront to enjoy dinner. Joe’s Crab Shack will feed you great seafood and keep you entertained at the same time.
