Hospitality Louisville was born out of the idea that a powerful brand is fueled by the people who consume it, enjoy it and return for more. Simply stated, Hospitality Louisville ^TM is about bringing Louisville citizens together to create an unparalleled, branded visitor experience that results in increased business volume.

Service leaders fundamentally believe that strong brand recognition, coupled with superior service delivery, directly correlates to loyalty and repeat visitation. The Hospitality Louisville^TM program has been designed to achieve this principle by informing, educating and engaging our industry’s front-line staff on how to be outstanding ambassadors for the city.

The Hospitality Louisville Ambassador Designation
The designation of Hospitality Louisville Ambassador is offered to anyone working in the hospitality industry in the greater Louisville area. Participants receive a HLA designation when the following training is completed. Training includes:

• Hospitality Louisville 101: An Orientation to Louisville
  An interactive customer service session held by Bureau staff about Louisville trivia, top attractions, dining districts, shopping, galleries, performing arts and the many other points of interest Louisville offers residents and visitors. Also in this seminar, a short video production starring local front-line employees who have received the Bureau’s Recognition for Service Excellence (ROSE) award and their take on providing exemplarity service is shown.   A Hospitality Louisville Reference Guide is provided for participants to refer to after completing the course.
  
  At the conclusion of this two-hour session, participants will be able to:
• Describe their important role as an ambassador to Louisville.
• List basic customer service behaviors (TIPS).
• Explain how providing great customer service and being knowledgeable about Louisville can lead to increased tips and repeat business for your organization.
• Learn Louisville trivia and about area attractions.

Discover Louisville
This interactive four-hour tour provided by The Convention Connection, highlights the locations of interest covered in the Orientation to Louisville course.

During this tour, participants will:

• Have the opportunity to visit two Louisville attractions and eat in a Louisville Originals restaurant.
• Learn customer service tips, transportation options for the guests, and giving proper directions and setting itineraries.
• Receive the Passport to Louisville with the guidelines for completion of the HLA certification.

Passport to Louisville
This portion of the certification program allows participants a first-hand look at many of the area attractions.

At the conclusion of this “on your own” exploration of Louisville’s attractions, participants will: 

• Evaluate at least five (5) attractions of different genres provided in the passport.
• Qualify to volunteer for the Louisville Convention and Visitor Bureau for a minimum of four (4) where upon conpletion, participant will receive a Louisville Hospitality Ambassador certification and lapel pin.

Awards, Certificates and Designation
Participants who complete all four components of the course will receive a certificate of completion, pin, reference guide and designation as a Hospitality Louisville Ambassador.
