  1. Fleur de Lis Regatta

    Date: 9/10/2010-9/12/2010

    Louisville and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society invite you to join the many sailors who have teamed up to make the future brighter for the thousands of families facing the everyday challenges of leukemia, lympnoma, Hodgkin's disease, and myeloma. Leukemia is our nations number one disease killer of children, and unfortunately strikes ten times as many adults. Each boat will be participating and fundraising in honor of a local Patient Hero living with one of the above mentioned blood-related cancers.

  2. 2010 Alzheimer's Association Memory Walk

    Date: 9/11/2010

    A 1.5 mile walk that makes a difference in the lives of people affected by Alzheimer's disease. Join the thousands of people nationwide participating in Memory Walk, the largest fundraising event for the disease. There will be sponsor booths, a DJ, refreshments, aerobics, and fun. Memory Walk helps fund programs and services such as help lines, support groups, and educational events.

  3. Clydesdale Games

    Date: 9/11/2010-9/12/2010

    The Clydesdale Games are a grueling two-day competition in which the region's fittest "large" athletes compete in a variety of workouts. The details of the workouts are not announced until a couple of days before the event. This means that all year long, the athletes are training for a competition whose format is almost completely a mystery.

  4. Waterfront Yoga

    Date: 9/14/2010

    Come enjoy the beauty of the waterfront and the relaxation of yoga at the Brown-Foreman Amphitheater, next to Tumbleweed. Classes will be held every Tuesday at 7pm, weather permitting and are only $5 per person. Beginners are welcome. We look forward to seeing you. Namaste. Admission: $5

  5. Friends of the Waterfront Silver Anchor Award

    Date: 9/16/2010

    Join us for the 19th annual Silver Anchor Award Reception on the Belle of Louisville (dockside event). Silent auction, live music, delicious food and libation. Funds raised go toward supporting the mission of Friends of the Waterfront, which is a volunteer organization focused on waterfront advocacy and development.

  6. 10th Annual Kidney Walk

    Date: 9/18/2010

    A short walk could help someone take a life saving step. The 10th Annual Kidney Walk is a fundraiser designed to raise both awareness and dollars for the fight against kidney disease. The walk encircles Waterfront Park and is filled with exciting festivities: entertainment, games, giveaways, and more! The Kidney Walk presents an occasion for dialysis patients, organ transplant recipients, donor families, living donors, the medical communities and general public to celebrate life and support the National Kidney Foundation's mission.

  7. National Jug Band Jubilee

    Date: 9/18/2010

    Get those empty whiskey jugs and kazoos ready because Jim Kweskin and Geoff Muldaur of the legendary Kweskin Jug Band are coming to Louisville for the 6th Annual National Jug Band Jubilee. The jubilee is an all-day music festival dedicated to pre-World War II folk music.

  9. Free Historical Waterfront Walking Tours

    Date: 9/25/2010

    A series of free walking tours, led by local historian Rick Bell, will explore the history of Louisville's riverfront and the development of today's acclaimed Waterfront Park. Beginning at the Belle of Louisville's landing at the Fourth Street wharf, the 90-minute tours will end at the Lincoln Memorial. Bell will describe the riverfront's importance to the growth of Louisville from its founding during the American Revolution, through its glory days during the Steamboat Era, to its renaissance as one of the world's most successful maritime recreational parks.

  10. Louisville Pagan Pride Day

    Date: 9/25/2010

    Join us as we celebrate the Autumn Equinox with a festival of presentations, workshops, music, shopping and fellowship. There will be live music, belly dancing, and a drum circle. Free admission with a canned food donation to the Dare to Care Food Bank.

  11. Kentuckiana Start! Heart Walk

    A 1 & 3-mile walk to raise funds for the American Heart Association as we fund research, education and advocacy for heart disease and stroke - our community's #1 and #3 killers. Join thousands for this fundraiser and enjoy festivities for the whole family.

    Louisville’s most popular after work concert series featuring national and local artists. Outside food and alcohol are prohibited. No coolers, no glass & no pets allowed in the event area Lawn chairs and blankets are encouraged. There is a cash bar and great upscale festival food. Boat docking is on a first come first served basis.

  15. WFPK Waterfront Wednesdays

    Date: 9/29/2010

    Louisville’s most popular after work concert series. For the seventh year, the Waterfront Development Corporation and Louisville Public Media are working together to offer free concerts on the Harbor Lawn featuring national and local artists. There is a cash bar and great upscale festival food. Boat docking is on a first come first served basis. Outside alcohol and glass are not permitted. Lawn chairs and blankets are encouraged.
